A new community celebration will take place this weekend.
The Raider Fall Festival and All School Reunion will begin with the Mount Ayr Raider Homecoming football game Friday night and continue Saturday afternoon and evening with a long list of activities.
Car show
A Show and Shine featuring cars, trucks, tractors, and motorcycles will be on display on the square from 4-7 p.m. Saturday.
Trent Stewart 5K
The annual Trent Stewart Memorial 5K Run will be held Saturday at 5 p.m. in front of the Princess Theater. (Registration opens at 4 p.m.)
Runners may register for one of two races – the 5K run/slog (3.1 miles) or the two-mile run/slog.
Medals will be awarded to the male and female winners in the following nine age divisions: 8 and under, 9-13, 14-18, 19-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55-64, 65 and over..
The entry fee is $30 the day of the race, with a limited number of T-shirts available.
All proceeds go to mental health awareness programs.
Division winners will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

Domingo
A big hit at the recent Ayr Days celebration, Domingo the Celebrity Longhorn will make a return appearance to meet and greet the public from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Chicken wings
The popular Hy-Vee Chicken Wings for Charity event returns Saturday.
Public serving will run from 6-8 p.m. in the barbecue area near the corner of Taylor and Madison streets. Wristbands to enter the serving area will cost $10 for adults and $5 for kids ages 6-12. Kids age 5 and under are admitted free.
Now in its eighth year, Chicken Wings for Charity has raised over $16,000 for local charities.
This year’s recipient will be the Mount Ayr Dive Team.
Winners of the competitions will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

Bags tourney
Sign up for the bags tournament will begin at 6 p.m. at Still Smokin’ BBQ. Tourney action gets underway at 7 p.m.
