Why are you running for election/re-election to the city council?
My main reason for running for re-election to the city council is that I truly care about our town and community. I have served on the park board and city council for the last 25 years. Being a contractor in my profession, I have an understanding of what is going on under our city streets. We have completed the water line project and sewer lines are next. According to the DNR, a plan is getting started. If re-elected, I will continue to make the best common sense decisions for your tax dollars.
If you are elected, what would be your top three priorities for the city?
My top three priorities for the city are as follows:
1: Finalize a decision for our city pool – I feel we have wasted a lot of time and we need to move forward with a pool that we can afford for the size of our community.
2: Storm drains and drainage – Our storm drains are old but still work. Therefore, we need to add more as well as tile along streets to get the water away from the streets. Our city employees have been installing the pipe, saving us a lot of money by not hiring outside contractors.
3: Streets – Doing service work all over town, I drive on all the streets and feel we have made some progress, however, we have to get the water away from the roads edge or we are wasting our time and money.
Thank you for your support in the past years, and if re-elected I will do my best to serve our town.

Why are you running for election/re-election to the city council?
I’m running for re-election to help keep our town growing. We have made a lot of improvements over the 12 years I’ve been on and would like to keep helping out.
If you are elected, what would be your top three priorities for the city?
1. Sewer system – We have a lot of sewer lines that are in need of replacement or repair. With replacing them, the town would be in better shape with new sewer and the new water main lines.
2. Streets – We have a lot of roads in town that need repaired or totally redone.
3. New pool – We need a new pool for everyone in town and in Ringgold County.

Why are you running for election/re-election to the city council?
Over the past several years I have lived in this town, I have grown a true appreciation for this community. As I raise my family here, I want our town to be a place where my children can thrive; a place they’ll want to stay and raise their own families. Running for council would allow me to be a part of the vessel that has the largest impact on our town’s future. As a none Mount Ayr native, I believe I’ll be able to provide a diverse and new perception to our town’s growth.
If you are elected, what would be your top three priorities for the city?
My top priorities will be to support current and new infrastructure improvements, promote sustainable development that encourages housing development, healthy living and economic growth, and maintain and strengthen fiscal health.
