Why are you running for election to the school board?
I think it is important for people in the community to get involved, step up and serve where they can. I’ve got 2 kids that currently attend and 1 more that will attend MACS and I would like to help make sure that they continue to receive the highest quality education they can.
If you are elected, what would be your top three priorities for the Mount Ayr Community School district?
I’m not running for the board to serve some prior agenda. Therefore, most of my time initially will be spent learning about the system from the inside and how best to help from that position.
With that said I think it is critical that we attract and retain quality educators.
I also believe that the school should be financially solvent and use the money they are given to maximize its effectiveness.
Finally, the main goal of the school should always be to prepare our students for whatever avenue they choose to pursue.

Why are you running for election to the school board?
I am running for a school board position because I feel that I can bring positive attributes to the board such as strong relations with many in the community, the ability to cohesively work with others on the board, and a desire to stand up for what I believe is the best for the school and our children despite other’s opinions. I want to be a advocate for students, parents, and staff but especially my three daughters who have impacted my choice to run. It is clear that by making our younger generation successful, the entire community will be successful.
If you are elected, what would be your top three priorities for the Mount Ayr Community School district?
If elected, my top three priorities would be: commitment to school safety, investment in time and effort to ensure staff retention and providing a welcoming environment to future employees, and implementing a cohesive relationship between the community and school.
