Ringgold County Conservation announced that the Liberty Lake Development Project – Phase 3 is fully funded.
“It is truly hard to express the magnitude of this type of project for Ringgold County and the countless positive economic, educational, recreational, health and wellness benefits that it will have on our community,” said RCCB director Kate Zimmerman.
Liberty Lake Phase 3 is one of the projects larger phases with an estimated project cost of over $500,000. This funding was achieved through multiple grants, donations, fundraisers, ARPA and REAP funding. The estimated Liberty Lake Development Project costs for all 5 Phases of the development are just under $2,000,000.
“The Conservation Board and I are so incredibly grateful for every single donation and kind word of encouragement,” said Zimmerman. “This has been quite the undertaking for our small staff. We began the Liberty Lake project after just finishing the Dragoon Trace Nature Center and after only three years of ownership, the Conservation Department is already set to complete Phase 3 (shower house, campground and cabins), this is absolutely incredible.”
The Liberty Lake project has been moving forward at a fast pace with Phase 3 of 5 phases set to be completed in early 2022. The Ringgold County Conservation Department has been able to complete three phases in three years utilizing grants, fundraisers and donations. Some of those improvements included shoreline armoring, fish habitat restoration, three new docks and kayak launcher, disc golf course and kayaks and canoes for programming.
“Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for once again, believing in this small but mighty department,” said Zimmerman.
