Drastic difference in reported COVID cases

Statistics compiled by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and those offered by the Ringgold County Public Health (RCPH) vary drastically this week.
According to IDPH on Monday, Ringgold County recorded only six new cases over the past seven days.
In contrast RCPH reports as of Tuesday morning per local disease surveillance site DOMO, Ringgold County has had 47 positive cases in the last 14 days and 22 positive cases in the last seven days. The county’s positivity rates is reported at 22.08 percent among those tested.
The IDPH numbers for six-county are reveal spikes in four counties:
Clarke 46
Union 41
Taylor 31
Decatur 24
Adams 9
Ringgold 6
IDPH reports Ringgold County continues to rank among the fewest number of positive cases statewide since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
At 715 total positive cases, Ringgold County trails only Adams County with 555 positive results.
In comparison, totals from surrounding counties include 1,809 in Union, 1,556 in Clarke, 886 in Decatur and 877 in Taylor.
In the battle to combat the spread of COVID, IDPH reports 2,333 residents aged 18 and over in Ringgold County have been fully immunized against COVID, and those numbers continue to climb each week in the six-county area:

Ringgold County Public Health added the following information:
• State-wide data per local disease surveillance site DOMO shows 53 percent of all residents in Iowa are fully vaccinated. For Ringgold County the same data is 47.8 percent.
• According to CDC data, 55.6% of all vaccine-eligible residents in Ringgold County are fully vaccinated.
• Ringgold County Public Health is now offering Pfizer vaccine to children age 5 to 11 years of age by appointment.
• Influenza vaccine is encouraged for those 6 months of age and older and can be given at the same time as COVID-19 vaccine.
