The six-county area shows a wide range of new COVID cases over the past seven days according to statistics compiled by the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH).
According to IDPH on Monday, both Ringgold and Adams counties had recorded seven new cases over the past seven days among those who had been tested. That number is lower than the other four counties in the area.
The IDPH numbers for the six-county area reveal the range of new cases:
Decatur 54
Union 50
Clarke 42
Taylor 27
Adams 7
Ringgold 7
IDPH reports Ringgold County continues to rank among the fewest number of positive cases statewide since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020.
At 788 total positive cases, Ringgold County trails only Audubon County with 787 total cases and Adams County with 598 positive results.
In comparison, totals from surrounding counties include 2,022 in Union, 1,687 in Clarke, 1,044 in Decatur and 1,018 in Taylor.
