The season continues for the Raiderette basketball team with two more games under their belts, traveling to Panora to face the Panorama Panthers before heading to Corning to face the Southwest Valley Timberwolves.

The Raiderettes had their work cut out for them when they tipped off against the Panthers last week.
The Panthers came out of the gate in full-force, outscoring the vistors from Mount Ayr, 21-2 in the first quarter. The Raiderettes didn’t have an answer for the Panthers press that saw 23 steals and five blocks on the night.
By halftime, the Raiderettes trailed the Panthers 40-7.
“We tried finding a combination of people that could score. We were making silly passes, they were jumping passing lanes and not learning from our mistakes. It was a mess,” said coach Thad Streit. “Tabby played well. I was impressed with her. She tried to get things going for us. We need to find some offense.”
Hayden Ruggles and Jill Kniep led the team with five points each, while Halsie Barnes led the team in rebounds with five.
The Raiderettes had 33 turnovers as a team, while Panorama gave up the ball 15 times.

The Raiderettes had a few days off to recover from the stunner in Panora before heading to Southwest Valley.
The girls from Mount Ayr were able to even their record at 2-2 after a win over the Timberwolves last Friday night.
It was a close contest as in the first quarter with the Raiderettes leading 15-11 after the first eight minutes ran off the clock, but a strong second quarter saw the Raiderettes jump ahead to a 33-18 lead at the halftime buzzer.
The second half belonged to the Timberwolves, but the rally wasn’t enough. Outscoring the Raiderettes 26-20, the Raiderettes came out on top.
Jill Kniep led the Raiderettes with 17 points, the only Raiderette in double digits.
Kniep also had seven rebounds and two steals on the night.
Halsie Barnes led the team with rebounds with nine while also recording one assist and one block.
Tegan Streit led the team in assists with five and recorded three steals.
