Wayne 48, Mt. Ayr 36
The Mount Ayr girls traveled to Corydon to face the Wayne Falcons where they fell 48-36 after the Lady Falcons press defense gave the Raiderettes fits, as well as trouble at the hoop with shots not falling in.
“We had some great looks at the basket,” said coach Thad Streit. “Some shots were in the bottom half of the lane, but they did not go through the net.”
The Raiderettes were 28.8 percent from the field, making 15-of-52 at the net and two-of-17 attempts from three-point territory.
The Raiderettes struggled at the freethrow line as well, hitting four-of-13 from the line.
Wayne shot a 40 percent from the field, and made one-of-six from three-point territory along with hitting 15-of-30 free throws.
Tegan Streit led the team at the bucket, scoring 13 on the night and making five-of-12 shots with one three and two-of-four free throws.

Mt. Ayr 61, Worth 16
The Raiderettes head into winter break even at 4-4 after a dominating performance against a beat up Worth County Tiger team Monday night.
The Raiderettes scored 21 in the first quarter, while only allowing two to the Tigers.
By halftime, the Raiderettes were leading 39-9 and coach Streit had allowed some of the banged up varsity girls to rest while the bench saw much needed floor time.
The Raiderettes allowed a total of seven points in the second half.
Leading the team in points was Tegan Streit who scored 18.
Streit completed eight-of-11 shots with one three and one-of-two free throws.
Maddie Stewart scored 16 on the night which included four-of-six freethrows and six buckets from underneath.
Linsie Barnes led the team in rebounds with five, followed by Halsie Barnes and Jill Kniep who each had four.
“We haven’t been playing the best and we did some nice things tonight,”said coach Thad Streit. “We made some shots, had some steals, post looks, we had an all around good looks on offense. Our defense isn’t where I want it to be but we did some nice things.”
The Raiderettes will start back up in 2022 on January 3 at home against Seymour.
