The Raiders finished eighth at the Pride of Iowa tournament in Greenfield to close out the 2021 portion of the season, before getting back to the mats on January 6 in Albany, Missouri.
Bedford/Lenox finished first with a team score of 209, followed by Nodaway Valley (176.5) and Southwest Valley (150.5) to round out the top three.
Martensdale-St. Marys finished fourth with a 132, while Southeast Warren/Melcher-Dallas took fifth with a 93.
East Union finished sixth with an 83, while Central Decatur finished seventh with a 63.
Mount Ayr’s 52 points saw them finish eighth and Wayne finished ninth with a 37.
Brock Shaha weighed in at 106 and defeated Caleb Eganhouse of MStM by fall before defeating Bedford/Lenox’s Mizael Gomez by a 7-3 decision.
Mount Ayr’s Jayden Levy fell to SEW’s Levi Halterman by a 16-2 major decision and to Central Decatur’s Cody Morgan by fall.
Jaydon Knight took a first place match win after going through Central Decatur’s Odin Rivera, Isaak Dukes of Bedford/Lenox and finally Logan Montgomery of Southeast Warren.
Tucker Larson fell to Colin Jacobs of Southwest Valley, Xavier Adamson of Bedford/Lenox and Adam Ayase of Nodaway Valley.
Ayden Miller fell to Mathew Sonneberg of Southeast Warren and Trenton Warner, of Nodaway Valley. Miller fell to Sawyer Wilkenson of Southwest Valley to close out his day.
