JEANNE KAY STEWART

Jeanne Kay Stewart, the daughter of Vern Joseph and Helen Martha (O’Grady) Marler, was born November 13, 1944, at Estherville, IA. Jeanne entered eternal rest on January 14, 2022, at Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center, West Burlington, IA, at the age of 77.
Jeanne graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1963. She married Dean Stewart on November 30, 1963, at Leon, IA and they recently celebrated 58 years of marriage. Jeanne grew up on a farm in Ringgold County, IA so it was an easy choice for the new couple to start off as farmers. In 1968 they moved to Burlington, IA where Jeanne started a new career at Lehigh Leopold and worked in accounting for 22 years. After Leopold closure she moved to the Army Ammunition Plant accounting department for five years. She finished her career at Mt. Pleasant Warehouse working with Dean until they retired in 2007.
Jeanne spent 30 years supporting a fraternal organization, Moose Chapter 587. She held every office in the Women of the Moose throughout her time there. She also earned all her Moose Degrees while supporting Chapter 587. Jeanne loved baking and especially loved making pies and cakes. She was often called upon to donate her delicious baked goods for charity events.
Left to cherish Jeanne’s memories are her husband, Dean, (the love of her life) and her two boys, Mike (Sheila) Stewart of West Burlington and Mark (Lori) Stewart of Abilene TX. Fourteen grandchildren; numerous great and great great grandchildren; two sisters and one brother; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Jeanne is preceded in death by her mother and father.
Per her wishes, cremation has been accorded and entrusted to Lunning Chapel.
