MORRIS DON BOSWELL

Morris Don Boswell, age 80, of Lamoni, IA, the son of Leroy and Alma Deane (Osborn) Boswell, was born on March 14, 1941, in Lamoni. He passed away in Mount Ayr, IA, on January 7, 2022.
Morris grew up in Lamoni, graduated from Lamoni High School, and attended Graceland College. He married Jennifer Sue Trammell on June 26, 1960, in Lamoni. Morris and Jennifer were blessed with three children: Christopher, Kendall and Shanann.
His work history included: Boswell Grain Elevator, Triple B Spraying Service, auctioneer, farming, Bureau Chief at the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship and Decatur County Board of Supervisors.
Morris loved playing guitar, singing, farming, horses and rodeos. Morris and Jennifer enjoyed spending time with family. He was a member of the Lamoni Community of Christ Church and pastor at numerous RLDS churches.
Morris loved the outdoors. He went on fishing trips to Lake Michigan with Chris and Kendall, as well as deer and elk hunting with family and friends. Morris and Jennifer also had numerous motorcycle and camping adventures with family and friends. He loved to cook and enjoyed telling stories.
Favorite memories include: playing music together as a family growing up; working cattle together; Morris, Jennifer, Bailey, Shania, Saige, Boston and Colton going on vacation to Colorado; Morris and Boston vacationing in South Dakota; exploring the mountains and ocean in Georgia and North Carolina with Taylor; Alaskan cruise; family vacation to South Dakota with all the kids, spouses, and grandkids; playing guitar and spending time with Dillon; attending Colton’s ballgames; and conducting Shania’s marriage ceremony at the farm.
Preceding him in death: his parents; wife, Jennifer; daughter, Shanann; granddaughter, Saige; brothers, Clarence, Kenneth, James; sisters, Nina (Jim) Cook and Sue (John) Slauter.
Morris is survived by his sons Christopher (Leann) and Kendall (Carla); son-in-law, Ted Breitenkamp; grandchildren, Taylor DeLong, Dillon DeLong, Colton Boswell, Bailey Boswell, Shania (Wyatt) Hensley, Boston Boswell; great grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many friends. He knew no stranger and was a friend to all.
Funeral services will be Saturday, January 22, 2022. Visitation will be held on January 22 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Davis City Community Building. Funeral services will be held at the same location on January 22, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. Private graveside services at the Creveling Cemetery will be held at a later date. Lunch will be served immediately following the service. Limited seating.
