Mount Ayr graduate, Alexa Anderson, didn’t wait long to make an impact as a Central College Dutch softball player this past weekend as the Dutch headed to Florida for compeition.
Anderson ended her softball career in Mount Ayr last summer, recording a .453 batting average, .512 on base percentage and a .747 slugging percentage, just in 2020-21.
Anderson collected 34 hits, 23 singles, along with 23 RBI and five home runs.
In Florida, she picked up where she left off with the Raiderettes.
In the first of two games, Central College defeated Oneonta 3-2 before downing Suny-Canton 15-0 in five innings.
Anderson appeared at bat once, hitting a single and driving in a run.
On Tuesdsay, the Dutch defeated Suny-Canton and Kenyon in Fort Myers to improve to 5-5 on the season, with six more games to play this week.
The Dutch will stay in Florida until March 19 where they will play a handful of games, before returning to Pella to host their own.
