Ehlen, Graham lead Raider golfers early

In The Raider and Raiderette golf teams have had a busy opening week hosting quad involving Martensdale-St. Marys, Nodaway Valley and Southeast Warren.
The Nodaway Valley Wolverines took top honors on the day, shooting a low score of 181.
Mount Ayr came in second, with a 201 followed closely by Martensdale-St. Marys with a 209 and Southeast Warren placing fourth with a 218.
Nodaway Valley’s Bradley Gebbie was medalist on the day shooting a 42, while Mount Ayr’s Drew Ehlen also shot a 42, but fell in second on the tie-breaker.
Mount Ayr’s only other golfer in the top 10 was freshman Dylan Graham, shooting a 51 on the day.
Other scores for the Raiders were Louden Main 53, Kash Wasteney 55, Quinn Coulson 58 and Xander Harmening 61.
Girls golf participants were down in this meet with no team scores posted. The Raiderettes fielded Emmalee Schafer, Mallory Weehler and Alana Doolittle.
The Raiderettes saw Schafer lead the team with a 52, while Weehler kept close at 55 and Doolittle finished with a 74.
It was a three-way tie for first with Lindsey Davis of Nodaway Valley, Schafer of Mount Ayr and Ashlyn Gutierez of Nodaway Valley, all shooting a 52.
Davis took the medal, while Schafer was second and Gutierez third.
Weehler finished fourth overall, while Doolittle settled in at eighth.
On April 12, the Raider and Raiderette teams hosted the Wayne Falcons on a very windy Tuesday afternoon.
Drew Ehlen took the medal, shooting a 46, while Dylan Graham finished fourth with a 49, improving his first meet score by two strokes.
Kash Wasteney finished third on the team, shooting a 60, while Coulson shot a 61, Main shot 64 and Haremning shot a 69.
The Raiderettes saw Emmalee Schafer take top honors with a 53 and Mallory Weehler shoot a 59 for second.
Alana Doolittle shot a 73 and finished fifth overall.
