To the editor:
As a former Social Studies educator, there are just some things so outrageously ignorant that I can’t ignore them.
Case in point, the latest rant of Georgia Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene trying to tie the 40 billion dollar aid package to the Ukraine to the shortage of baby formula in this country.
That is a stretch but Ms. Greene goes on to include war torn countries like Ethiopia [she never hears Ethiopia brought up here], the crisis at the southern border, and the oath to support the Constitution.
I would remind Ms Greene and her like minded ultra nationalist colleagues of the January 6th insurrection.
You do not uphold the Constitution by overthrowing the results of an election and the peaceful transfer of power from one administration to the newly elected one.
In the context of American democracy, that makes you a traitor. By the way, baby formula is NOT produced by the government but by private companies like Abbot.
