Schafer advances to second regional matchup for the Raiderettes

The Raiderettes hosted the first round of regional golf May 13, where one Raiderette advanced on to the next round at the Crestwood Hills Golf Course in CAM.
Schafer finished third overall, shooting a 100, just behind Maggie Haer of Southwest Valley who shot a 99, and first place finisher Avery Dowling of Sidney who shot an 86.
The Mount Ayr girls as a team finished fifth overall with a 514.
Sidney took first place with a 409 and Essex shot a 471 to advance to the second round.
In third was East Union with a 473, while Southwest Valley finished fourth with a 487.
Schafer shot a 52 on her out round before making some improvements on the back nine with a 48.
Mallory Weehler shot a 64 and 62 which saw her finish 20th overall, while Linsie Barnes took 24th with a 67 and 64.
Alana Doolittle finished the season with a 157 after an 81 and 76.
The Mount Ayr Raider golf team recently hosted the Sectional Golf tournament on May 11.
The Raiders placed fourth overall, scoring a 432, while Earlham took first, Wayne finished second and East Union finished third.
Mormon Trail and Lamoni both didn’t field enough golfers for a team score.
The Raiders were led by Drew Ehlen who finished sixth overall with a 96 after shooting a 47 on the first nine, followed by 49.
Louden Main finished the day in second for the Raiders, but 17th overall, shooting a 51 and 59.
Keye Willis was pretty even, shooting a 55 on his out game before shooting a 56 on his way back in. Willis finished 18th overall with a 111.
Dylan Graham ended the day in 21st with a 115, shooting a 60 on his first nine holes before improving his game by five strokes for a 55 on the second half.
Trevin Victor shot a 120 for a 23rd finish. Victor shot a 65 and a 55.
Kash Wasteney finished the day in 25th overall with a 123, shooting a 59 and 64.
