The Mount Ayr Cross Country teams traveled to Centerville on October 4 to run at the Preserve Golf Course.
The Mount Ayr Raiderettes placed eighth overall, with Albia taking top honors.
The Raiderettes placed ahead of fellow Pride of Iowa members Central Decatur (9th) and Wayne (15th).
Anne Newton crossed the line first for the Raiderettes in 26th with a time of 21:59, followed by Makenna Jones in 35th with a time of 22:32.
Karlie Larsen placed 59th with a time of 23:37.
Natalie Schaefer ran a 24:12 to place 72nd, while a group of Raiderettes finished together to place 79th through 82nd.
Ashlyn Byer placed 79th with a time of 24:33, followed by Ava England in 80th with a time of 24:38.
Aubree Clarke finished 81st with a time of 24:39 and Kacie Larsen was 82nd with a time of 24:40.
Karly Larsen finished 90th with a time of 25:05 to round out the Raiderettes.
The Mount Ayr Raiders finished the day with Ashtyn Benesh finishing 130th with a time of 21:43 and Braylon Greenwell in 134th with a time of 21:49.
The teams traveled to Afton to run in the Pride of Iowa Conference meet on Tuesday.
Results of that meet will appear in next week’s Record-News, along with Mount Ayr’s home meet, the Ron Landphair Invitational, that takes place Thursday, October 13.
