Halloween fun takes center stage this weekend.
Tingley Fun Night
The 76th annual Halloween Fun Night sponsored by the Tingley Lions Club will take place Saturday, October 29.
The Lions Club soup supper and Ranchers 4-H bake sale will run from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Community Building.
From 5-6 p.m. kids ages 0-15 are invited to the Tingley tennis court for the Court n’ Treat candy giveaway.
Entries for the Halloween parade will begin lining up at the ballfield at 6 p.m. with judging to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The parade will then come down Main Street starting at 7 p.m.
Winners of the Lions Club drawing and parade winning entries will be announed following the parade in front of the Post Office.
Bingo will be held in the Community Building following the parade.
Nightmare on Madison
The popular haunted house experience of Nightmare on Madison Street will conclude this weekend.
The attraction, sponsored by the Ringgold Outdoor Alliance, is located upstairs in the Timby Building on the northeast corner of the Mount Ayr square.
The thrills and chills run from 7-11 p.m. both Friday, October 28 and Saturday, October 29.
Admission is $10, and waivers are required.
Two Trunk or Treats
The United Church of Diagonal is holding its annual Trunk or Treat event from 5-7 p.m. Monday, October 31.
Participants will gather in the church parking lot to hand out candy and goodies to kids before they begin their door-to-door trick or treating across the town.
A new Trunk or Treat event in Kellerton will run from 5-6:30 p.m. Saturday, October 29 in front of the fire department on Decatur Street before kids begin their door-to-door trick or treating across the town.
Trick or Treat nights
“Official” trick or treat nights have been set in the following communtiies:
• Kellerton – Saturday, October 29 – 5-8 p.m.
• Mount Ayr – Sunday, October 30 – 5-7 p.m.
• Diagonal does not traditionally set a specific time for trick or treating on Monday, October 31.
