Every November 11 our nation recognizes the people who exhibit undeniable patriotism and the willingness to serve and sacrifice for the common good. Veteran’s Day reminds us of the sacrifices made by American veterans and their families for our collective freedoms.
The brave men and women who have served and protected this country continue to be a very important part of every community, and the Mount Ayr schools would like to honor those who are a part of our community.
The Mount Ayr Community School National Honor Society would like to invite everyone to attend a program honoring our veterans on November 11, 2022 in the Mount Ayr High School gymnasium at 10:00 a.m. Please join the community in celebrating and extending our thanks to the service of our veterans.
Meals
From 7-10 a.m., Hy-Vee will be serving breakfast free of charge for veterans and their spouse at the American Legion in Mount Ayr.
In the evening the American Legion Post 172 will host a free soup supper for veterans and their family as a appreciation for their service.
Diagonal
The Diagonal schools will host their annual Veterans Day observance beginning at 2 p.m. in the south gym.
All vets and public are invited.
