Raiderette season stats show improvement in key areas

The Raiderette volleyball season ended with a record of 9-15 after a loss to Southwest Valley in their first game of regional play.
The Raiderettes had 436 kills on the season on 1,603 attempts with 366 assists in 65 sets played.
Leading the Raiderette squad in kills was senior Tegan Streit who recorded 92, while senior Kacee Klommhaus was just behind with 77.
Senior Kaylie Shields locked down the assists at the settor position with 238 assists, while junior Hayden Ruggles recorded 108.
On the defensive side of the net, the Raiderettes recorded 116 blocks, 93 assists and 631 digs.
Seniors Linsie Barnes and Kacee Klommhaus were responsible for just about half of the blocks recorded, with Barnes blocking 33 kill attempts and Klommhaus responsible for 32.
Sophomore Olivia Huntington kept the Raiderettes alive this season with 190 digs, to lead the team.
Senior Tabby Henle wasn’t too far behind with 121 digs, while Streit recorded 114 and Ruggles collected 109.
Barnes had 24 assists on defense, while Klommhaus was just behind with 22.
The Raiderette serve game improved tremendously over last year, successful on 90.4 percent of their serves (last year was 83.2%), with 182 aces.
Leading the serves by efficiency was Shields who went 251-256 with 30 aces for a 98 percent efficiency from the line.
Leading the Raiderettes in aces, was Ruggles with 41.
Mount Ayr will graduate nine seniors in Tabby Henle, Kaylie Shields, Kalee Wise, Kacee Klommhaus, Reegan Waldeier, Tegan Streit, Linsie Barnes, Zoey Larsen and Jill Kniep.
