A welfare check on a Mount Ayr resident resulted in serious charges being filed.
According to the incident report from the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Office, a welfare check was requested on Jordan Douglas Still, 35, on Monday December 5.
After approaching Still, officers noticed that a gun and bomb was in his lap. The bomb wasn’t sensitive to movement and was removed to a remote location.
Iowa State Fire Marshal was called and bomb technicians arrived on the scene. Technicians determined it was a bomb and made it safe.
Still was subsequently arrested on December 10 on two warrants of Dominion/Control of Firearm/Offensive Weapon by Felon and Unauthorized Possession of Offensive Weapons.
Still was transported to the Ringgold County Jail where he was held on a $10,000 cash/surety bond.
Any potential criminal charges identified above are merely allegations and any defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
