Iris’s Beauty Salon was established in 1951, and for over 70 years its focus has been to serve the public with dedication, always striving to meet the expectation and needs of each patron and client.
With regret, the time has come to permanently close the hair salon on December 31, 2022. Reflexology, Chakras, and Crystal services will still continue for a limited time.
I give great thanks to all the salon’s former employees, including each cosmetologist who worked to meet all of our clients’ needs.
I would like to give special thanks to Shelly Wimer who was with us for twenty years and Sherri Hymbaugh who was with us for ten years. Their long term dedication and support was always appreciated.
A Debt of gratitude goes to Carol May, Deanne Johnson, and those others who devoted years to Iris, Sam, and Cathy Ward by keeping the salon clean and orderly and so much more.
I would like to say thank you to the many youths who trained and worked with us, throughout the past 70 years. This job, a first employment experience for many, helped Iris’s salon to get ready each business day.
Through all the years, remodels, and changes; the salon has been a growing home, with each patron a member of an extended family.
As hard as it is to close the doors, on the hair salon permanently, good and cherished memories, to numerous to count, will always remain.
I consider the Salon to be like a child I have watched grow and mature, and when I think back I ponder a particular proverb: “It takes a village” and I can say oh yes, indeed it does.
