Evangeline Kay, daughter of Clair Orr and Lillie Lucille (Lucas) Willey, was born November 18, 1937, at Mount Ayr, IA. Kay grew up in Mount Ayr and graduated from Mount Ayr High School in 1956. She furthered her education at Graceland College where she majored in Home Economics.
On February 2, 1958, Kay was united in marriage to Doyle Eugene Stuck. They lived in Des Moines and to this marriage was born two children: Steven Eugene and Evangeline Kay. Doyle passed away on August 30, 1974.
Kay was a cosmetology instructor at the American Academy of Beauty in Des Moines. Kay loved providing for her home. She enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. She loved making and baking food for everyone. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cross stitching. Kay loved her flowers and many dogs. Kay loved going to Branson for getaways.
Kay married John William Swallow on December 19, 1981. They moved to Nebraska City, NE in 2004 and John passed away on June 13, 2014.
Kay passed away on January 5, 2023. She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; brother, Clair LeRoy Willey; and an infant sister, Judith Ann Willey.
Survivors include her children, Steven Eugene (Elizabeth) Stuck of Adel, IA and Evangeline Kay Stuck of Dunbar, NE; step-children, Leslie (Larry) Gross of Mandan, ND, Jeff (Sandy) Swallow of Mandan, ND; granddaughter, Jenna Renae Dirkschneider of Dunbar, NE; step-grandchildren, Alyson Gross, McKenzie Swallow, McKayla Swallow; brother, Ron (Nancy) Willey of Mount Ayr, IA; other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 10, 2023 in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials are to the Ringgold County Neighborhood Center Food Pantry.
