BONNIE LOUISE STUCK

Bonnie Louise Stuck, age 85, was born February 3, 1938, in Decatur County, IA, to Otto Benjamin and Frances Rosaline (Alexander) Akers. She went to be with her Lord on Saturday, February 25, 2023, from the Clearview Nursing Home in Mount Ayr, IA.
Bonnie grew up on the Akers family farm north of Decatur, IA, attending country school before graduating Leon High School, where she was active in sports, particularly enjoying basketball and softball and the arts, school plays and choir. After graduation, Bonnie started working as a secretary for a large insurance company in Des Moines, IA, and became engaged to Charles Stuck in the fall of 1956. They were married at the United Methodist Church in Grand River, IA, on December 31 of that year and celebrated 40 years of marriage.
Bonnie embraced her life in Grand River, where she was highly involved with farm, family and community life. She kept immaculate farming ledgers and supported the day-to-day farm needs, from tending bottle calves to moving cattle and machinery. She delighted in her four children, Michael, Michele, Karen and Nicole, and strongly supported their numerous activities, including FFA, 4-H and band. She was very active in the Grand River United Methodist Church, serving in a variety of roles, including kitchen helper at Bible School to United Methodist Women leader. She loved the Grand
River community and being a part of it.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frances Alexander Akers and Otto Akers; husband, Charles, on May 3, 1996; and siblings and their spouses, Betty and Thornton Bental, Doug and Shirley Akers, Margaret and Bob Shields and Mary’s husband, Tom Klinkefus,
Survivors include sister, Mary Klinkefus, and brother, Danny Akers, and wife, Marilyn; her children and their spouses, Mike Stuck of Grand River, IA, Michele and Steve Buche of Kansas City, KS, Karen and Michael Mortensen of Galveston, TX, and Nicole Stuck of Des Moines, IA; grandson, Max Stuck and wife, Courtney of Waverly, IA; granddaughter, Alex Miller of Creston, IA; and great grandchildren, Joel, Rory and Eben.
Funeral services will be held at the Slade – O’Donnell Funeral Home in Leon, IA at 10 a.m. Friday, March 3, 2023, with Pastor Rick Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery, Mount Ayr, IA, with lunch following at the Grand River Community Center.
