The Mount Ayr Raider and Raiderette track team traveled to Northwest Missouri State University to compete in their last indoor meet before the season gets underway next Tuesday, March 28.
It was a successful day for Mount Ayr, especially the Raiderette 4000 medley relay, setting a new school record.
Kacie Larsen, Karlie Elwood, Anne Newton and Karlie Larsen placed 10th overall at the meet with a time of 15:28.21, but shattered the previous record set in 2022 with a time of 15:51.28.
Freshman Aubree Shields took second overall in the high jump, clearing a height of 5-0, having the best finish of the day for the Raiderettes, in terms of placement.
The Raiders saw Ryce Reynolds take a first place spot in the 800 meter run with a time of 2:01.96 for the Raiders best finish of the day, while also taking third in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 9.04.
Braydon Pierson took fourth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.81.
In the girls shotput, Zoey Larsen placed seventh with a throw of 31-09.5, Jill Kniep placed 11th with a throw of 30-09.5 and Linsie Barnes placed 34th with a throw of 25-04.25.
The Raiders saw Rowan Sackett in 19th with a throw of 39-00.25, Tucker Knox in 29th with a throw of 34-07.75 and Colton Dredge in 30th with a throw of 33-09.75.
The long jump saw Raiderette Ashlyn Murphy in 24th with a jump of 12-11.
Raider Braydon Pierson finished 10th with a distance of 19-00.
In the boys high jump, Jackson Ruggles finished 13th with a height of 5-04 cleared.
Adan Trujillo cleared 5-0 to place 19th and Braydon Hale finished 25th, clearing 4-10.
In the 60 meter hurdles, the Raiderettes ran three.
Aubree Clark finished 25th with a time of nine seconds, Hayden Ruggles finished 45th with at ime of 9.71 and Mackenzie Knox finished 47th with a time of 9.77.
The Raiders saw Braydon Pierson finish 16th with a time of 7.52, Jaydon Knight finish 7.56 and Preston Fleharty finish 25th with at ime of 7.71.
In the girls 3200 meter run, Ivy Bice finished ninth with a time of 16:04.98.
Braylon Greenwell finished 15th with a time of 14:30.47.
In the 400 meter run, the girls ran three.
MaKenna Jones finished ninth with a time of 1:05.41, Ashlyn Murphy finished 21st with a time of 2:09.50 and Madison Shields finished 28th with a time of 1:12.65.
The Raiders also ran three, with Garrett Walter finishing 15th with a time of 57.76, Aiden Murphy finished 29th with a time of 1:02.13 and Michael Adkisson finishing 37th with a time of 1:05.43.
In the 800 meter run, Raiderettes Karlie Larsen finished 18th with a time of 2:47.51, Addison Doolittle finished 24th with a time of 2:57.34 and Kacie Larsen ran a 3:00.15 to finish 30th.
The Raiders saw Adan Trujillo in 17th with a time of 2:13.67 and Tegan Hill in 23rd with a time of 2:17.36.
The 4×200 saw two Raiderette teams run, the “A” team finishing 12th with a time of 1:58.69, consisting of Ashlyn Murphy, Kyleigh Conklin, Anne Newton and MaKenna Jones.
The “B” team of Tegan Streit, Aubree Clark, Karlie Elwood and Madison Shields finished with a time of 2:02.75 and finished 23rd.
The Raiders ran Braydon Hale, Tate Dugan, Jackson Ruggles and Rowan Sackett to finish 18th with a time of 1:43.47.
In the 200 meter run, the Raiderettes saw Alexa Bailey 44th with a time of 34.35, Abby Larsen in 47th with a time of 35.59 and Janna Irving in 48th with a time of 35.9.
The Raiders ran Braydon Pierson who finished fourth with a time of 23.81, Jaydon Knight ninth with a time of 24.52 and Preston Fleharty in 12th with a time of 24.77.
In the 1600 meter run, Ashlyn Byer finished 15th with a time of 6:53.98 and Ava England finished 22nd with a time of 7:53.79.
The Raiders ran Garrett Walter who took 15th with a time of 5:51.06, Aiden Murphy in 18th with a time of 6:23.01 and Michael Adkisson with a time of 6:55.51 to finish 19th.
In the 4×400, the Raiderettes ran a “A” and “B” teams.
The “A” team of Ashlyn Murphy, Aubree Shields, Anne Newton and MaKenna Jones took seventh with a time of 4:29.08 and the “B” team of Aubree Clark, Karlie Elwood, Tegan Streit and Kyleigh Conklin finished 22nd with a time of 4:29.35.
The Raiders also ran two teams.
The “A” team finished seventh with a time of 3:40 and consisted of Braydon Pierson, Tate Dugan, Jackson Ruggles and Ryce Reynolds.
The “B” team of Braydon Hale, Preston Fleharty, Tegan Hill and Adan Trujillo finished 21st with a time of 4:03.39.
Mount Ayr’s first outdoor action will take place in Earlham on Tuesday, March 28 at 4:30 p.m.
