Mount Ayr hosted its Raiderette Relays last week, in which the Raiderettes brought home the trophy with a first place finish, seeing Mount Ayr sweep its home relays after the Raiders took first in their relays just a week before.

It was a 33-point spread between the top two teams as the Raiderettes performed well on the track and in the field.
Aubree Shields and Kyleigh Conklin took second and third in the 400 meter dash with times of 1:07.46 and 1:09.20, respectively.
MaKenna Jones finished second in the 400 meter hurdles with a 1:10.45 while distance runners Anne Newton and Karlie Larsen finished one-two in the 800 meter run with times of 2:44.14 and 2:48.57, respectively.
Addison Doolittle added a gold with a first place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 5:50.35, narrowly defeating East Union’s Jillian Valencia who finished 1.02 seconds behind Doolittle.
The Raiderette sprint medley relay of Ashlyn Murphy, Tegan Streit, Kaylie Shields and Karlie Larsen finished third overall with a time of 2:01.12.
The 4×100 team of Madison Shields, Kaylie Shields, Tegan Streit and Ashlyn Murphy finished second with a time of 54.54.
The Raiderette shuttle hurdle team of Jones, K. Shields, A. Shields and Streit took first in the shuttle hurdle after a tough race against Central Decatur.
The Raiderettes ran a time of 1:10.29, edging out the Cardinal team who ran 1:10.38.
The 4×400 team of Aubree Clark, Karlie Larsen, A. Shields and Jones finished second to Wayne with a time of 4:24.28.
The 4×800 team ran a nice time of 11:09.08 and saw runners Ivy Bice, Ashlyn Byer, Kacie Larsen and Addison Doolittle run.
Another first place finish for the Raiderettes saw A.Murphy, K.Shields, Jones and Newton run a time of 4:36.72 in the distance medley relay.
Zoey Larsen placed third in the discus, throwing 91-00.
In the high jump, Aubree Shields placed first, clearing 5-2.
Ashlyn Murphy took home the gold in the long jump with a leap of 14-07.
The shot put saw throwers Larsen and Jillian Kniep finished second and third with throws of 31-07 and 31-00, respectively.
Raiders
Meanwhile, the Raiders traveled to Southwest Valley to take a look at the State Qualifying Meet location.
While only a few runners participated, they ran well and set a new school record in the 4×100.
The team of Braydon Pierson, Ryce Reynolds, Preston Fleharty and Jaydon Knight ran a 43.52 to sit atop the MACHS All-Time leaderboard.
The distance medley also performed well, taking a first place finish with a time of 3:38.82 to place eighth on the MACHS leaderboard.
The team of Fleharty, Knight, Pierson and Reynolds set the time.
A few throwers got in on the action as well, as Tucker Knox placed ninth in the discus with a throw of 108-02 and 20th in the shot put with a throw of 34-02.
Colton Dredge placed 13th in discus with a throw of 105-11 and 33-07 in the shot put.
Central DecaturOn Monday, May 8 the Raider and Raiderette track and field teams traveled down the road to Leon for the Central Decatur Cardinal Relays.
The Raiders lost out to Central Decatur by six points to take second, while narrowly defeating Chariton who had 79 points.
The Raiderettes also finished second, falling to Wayne who had 103 points, while the Raiderettes secured 89. Creston came in third with 70.
Raiderettes
The Raiderettes had a handful of top three finishes on the night and one lone victory.
The victory came in the 4×400 relay with Aubree Clark, Karlie Larsen, Aubree Shields and Anne Newton running a 4:23.35.
The relays placed well throughout the night with four other relays taking top three spots.
The shuttle hurdle relay of Angelina Smith, Kaylie Shields, Aubree Shields and MaKenna Jones took second with a time of 1:16.14.
The 4×200 relay of Madison Shields, Anna Greenland, Breya Nickle and Hayden Ruggles finished second with a time of 2:03.11.
The distance medley team of Ashlyln Murphy, Kaylie Shields, Makenna Jones and Anne Newton took second after running a time of 4:33.82.
The 4×800 team of Kacie Larsen, Ivy Bice, Ashlyn Byer and Addison Doolittle finished third with a time of 11:22.08.
In field events, Zoey Larsen finished third, throwing the shot put 31-10, while also taking third in the discus with a throw of 94-07.
Aubree Shields took third in the high jump with a clearance of 5-00.
Back on the track, Karlie Larsen finished third in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:05.53.
Raiders
The Raiders saw similar success at Central Decatur, with three wins and a handful of top three finishes.
In the 200 meter dash, Tate Dugan ran a 23.99 to finish second, while Jackson Ruggles finished third with a time of 24.47.
The 400 meter dash saw Jaydon Knight take a victory with a time of 53.42 and Jackson Ruggles finish in a time of 54.01 for third.
Ryce Reynolds came within a second of the school record in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:55.52 which was good for first. The Mount Ayr school record sits at 1:54.
Adan Trujillo finished third in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:58.94.
The Raider 4×100 team of Braydon Pierson, Dugan, Preston Fleharty and Knight ran a time of 44.41 for a first place finish.
The shuttle hurle team of Trey Fooken, Brayden Hale, Jaize Frost and Dalton Barnes took second with a time of 1:12.63.
The Raider 4×400 team of Ruggles, Pierson, Knight and Drew Ehlen finished second with a time of 3:33.83.
Next up for Mount Ayr will be state qualifying track on Thursday, May 11 in Corning at 4:30 p.m.
