Harry Stanley Bryan

Harry Stanley Bryan was born April 11, 1947 in Redding, IA, the sixth son of Ruth and Roy Bryan. He passed away April 15, 2023 in Springfield, MO. He went to Mount Ayr Schools graduating in 1965.
He joined the Seabees. He served at least two tours in Vietnam and spent some time in Italy.
He went to school, for a time at SWCC in Creston and finally at Oklahoma State. He left school one semester short of graduation. He moved to Denver and remained there until just a few years ago when he finally went to Loveland, CO. He worked primarily in home construction for many years.
Stanley developed many health problems as a result of his service in Vietnam.
After leaving Colorado he lived on Bull Shoals Lake in northern Arkansas, for a time hoping to become a guide. He spent the last years in a retirement center in Mountain Home, AR.
On April 15, 2023, he suffered third degree burns in an accident and passed away later in the day.
He was preceded in death by his brothers; Bill, Howard, Dean, (Carol) and David, (Barbara). He is survived by his brother, Ed (Phyllis) and sister-in-law, Lenora (wife of Howard) and many nieces and nephews.
Military graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 24 at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Mount Ayr, IA.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Mount Ayr Fire Department.
