Marjorie Ellayne Taggart Hoffman

Marjorie Ellayne Taggart Hoffman was born to Howard and Margaret Kauble Taggart of Kellerton on November 11, 1929, and entered eternal rest on September 25, 2023, in Lamoni, Iowa.
She graduated from Kellerton High School in 1947. She and Gene Hoffman were married on August 17, 1948. To this union, one son, Jimmie Gene Hoffman, was born in June 1950.
Marjorie was a Kellerton United Methodist Church member, where she was Children’s Superintendent, vacation bible school teacher, college students’ teacher, and U.M.W. treasurer for eight years. She was active in the church until 2013 after medications from her second open heart surgery prevented her from actively going to Kellerton to church.
After Gene died in 2003, she moved to Lamoni and lived at Crown Colony, where she met and enjoyed new friends.
Marjorie was a “people lover.” She loved in word and action without judging or condemnation. Her faith sustained her through many health problems.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband Gene, parents and parents-in-law, her sister Alice and brother-in-law Paul Miller, and her brother Gene and sister-in-law Dorothy Taggart.
She is survived by son Jim and grandchildren Amy (Mindy) and Tim (Abbey); great-grandchildren Baylor, Kholt, Kashen, Kannon (Chetty), Pace, Kathryn, Lexi, Emma, and Grace Hoffman; foster daughter Kathleen (Bob) Frits; foster son Jack Garrity; and foster granddaughter Beth Combs.
May she rest in peace, safe in the arms of her Lord and Savior.
Memorials are to the Kellerton United Methodist Church. Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
