Thankful for foster care volunteers

To the editor:
In this season celebrating generosity and gratitude, we would like to thank everyone who has given their time, energy, and support to the Iowa Citizens Foster Care Review Board (FCRB) Program for Ringgold County.
Volunteers who join FCRBs meet on a regular basis to review the case of a child in foster care to ensure services are being provided and the child’s needs are being met. They also help identify any obstacles as the case progresses and brainstorm ways to overcome them.
Members of the FCRBs work collaboratively with other key people and professionals involved with the child to ensure the child’s best interests are pursued and the case stays on track.
FCRB volunteers truly make a difference for children and families in our community. The boards provide a way for people to directly influence the experiences children from the area have while they are in foster care.
Thank you to all of our current volunteers, and we invite readers to join our efforts in Ringgold County to advocate for local children who have experienced abuse and neglect.
