Join the American Legion

To the editor:
I hope all you Veterans in Ringgold County appreciate the dedication and hard work Harold Crawford does to keep the Mount Ayr American Legion going strong.
Harold is not even a veteran but his dad, two other brothers and myself are.
Without an increase in active membership, keeping the American Legion activities, such as carrying the flag in parades and at football games, and honoring veterans with military graveside services, are just to name a few, will be limited.
So, I encourage you, as Veteran’s Day approaches, to join and become an active member and current members to become more active to keep all these activities going for veterans like yourselves and proud local citizens.
