To the editor:
Donald Trump and the administer of the Department of Government Efficiency have touted the money which will remain in the U. S. Treasury after the elimination of at least one Department and several thousand employees in many other departments are removed from the federal payroll, each action taking place without consideration of the tangible or intangible effects such massive gutting will have on those who live in the United States and are sure to ripple throughout the world.
Government efficiency in order to save money as practiced by the Trump administration will not save money and one example of this is the cost to the federal government in dealing with the many lawsuits which have been filed in response to the Department of Efficiency actions.
Due diligence has not taken place in considering what should or should not be eliminated from the federal government, the best example of this is the elimination of many employees who worked in the Department of Energy and the almost overnight re-hiring of the same employees.
