Kelly Lynn Anderson

Kelly Lynn Anderson was born December 3, 1964, in Dubuque, Iowa and was adopted from there when he was just a few days old by his loving parents Max and Maxine Anderson and sister Sharla.
He grew up in Mount Ayr, Iowa and attended school there graduating with the class of 1983. Following graduation, he worked for a time with his dad at the Mount Ayr Mill and Feed Company, then went on to attend college at Graceland University graduating with a degree in Health and Physical Education.
Kelly was united in marriage to Deborah Loury on July 20, 1991, at the Mount Ayr United Methodist Church. To this union was born a daughter, Molly Elizabeth and a son, Anthony Arnold. Kelly and Debbie later divorced.
Kelly worked at various schools over the years teaching health and PE and coaching football which was one of his great loves. He also worked several years at the Chillicothe Correctional Facility in Chillicothe, Missouri working in the recreational area.
Kelly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed sports, especially football and was always willing to volunteer time helping out the local high school team whenever he could. He was a jokester and would always come up with a story to make everyone laugh at family gatherings. Kelly was a dog lover and always found them to truly be his best friend.
Kelly passed away March 14, 2025, at the Saint Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri after suffering injuries from a motor vehicle accident. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Those preceding him in death include his parents, a son Jaison, a brother David, grandparents Cyril and Marguerite Greene and Edna and Jesse Anderson.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Molly and Anthony, sister Sharla (Steve) Norris, many nieces, nephews, and friends and his dog Lucy.
Open viewing will be held at Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr on Friday, March 21 from 12 to 8 p.m. with family receiving friends on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Services will begin at 1:30 pm with burial in the Rose Hill Cemetery. Memorials are to the family.
