William Thomas Leeper

William Thomas Leeper of St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands was born on August 7th, 1971, to Doris Ann (Rittierodt) and David Patrick Leeper. He was brought home to his big sister, Laura Ann Leeper. He later became a big brother himself to Robert Jay, Jeffery Allen, and Jennifer Lynn.
Bill, or Billy as he was known when he was younger, graduated from Grand Valley High School in 1989 as Salutatorian. He pursued his passion for nature and wildlife by attending Iowa State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife Biology /Environmental Science in 1993. He proudly served his country in the United States Army as a Water Treatment Specialist from 1995 to 1999.
In 1999 Bill joined TSG waters where he was a Vice President of Operations and Deputy Director of Operations. In 2010 Bill met the love of his life, Wendy (Crews) Leeper and they married on February 11th, 2017.
Bill found true happiness in the natural world, particularly in the ocean. He was an avid diver, exploring the depths and marveling at the beauty of marine life. He also had a passion for cycling, and proudly participated in RAGBRAI multiple times, relishing the camaraderie and the challenge of the ride. He loved living in the Virgin Islands, where he was able to enjoy his passions year-round.
Bill will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, his deep love for nature, and his energetic personality. Bill was preceded in death by his father, David Patrick Leeper. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Wendy, Stepson Andrew, his mother Doris Leeper, his siblings Laura Leeper, Harold Vanderflught, Robert Leeper, Jeffery Leeper, and Jennifer (Thomas) Surdi, his nephews and nieces Joshua (Courtney) Vanderflught, Joseph Vanderflught, Zachary Vanderflught, Addison (Conner) Frazier, and Dallas Vattilana as well as 5 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew, 1 great-great-nephew and 1 great-great-niece and a wide circle of friends and colleagues.
The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at a later date.
