Obituaries: Elaine Sidney Tutor

Elaine Sidney Tutor, daughter of Glenn & Carmen (Conery) Cubbage, was born November 7, 1946. Elaine grew up in Des Moines with her six siblings, Dorothy, Gordon, Terry, Verne, Maurine, and Juanita.
Elaine was united in marriage to Daniel Wayne Patrick Tutor. They lived in Des Moines for several years before making Kellerton, Iowa their home in 1998. After her husband passed away in January of 2002, Elaine continued to live in Kellerton. Elaine became a resident of the Mount Ayr Health Care Center where she received love and care.
Elaine passed away on September 24, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband; sons Darrin and Dan; her parents; and siblings Verne Cubbage, Maurine Nelson, Juanita Nossman, Dorothy Drummond and Terry Cubbage.
Survivors include her son Dana Tutor of Ft Worth, Texas; sibling Gordon Cubbage; other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Monday, October 27, 2025, at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Des Moines, Iowa. Armstrong Funeral Home in Mount Ayr was in charge of the arrangements.
