Raiders Overpower Opponents in Big Week of Basketball

MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Raiders began a busy three game week by taking care of business at home against Murray 69-24 on Monday in Mount Ayr.
Mount Ayr was dominant from the tip-off as the took a 27-3 first-quarter lead. It was more of the same in the second quarter as the Raiders had a 49-8 lead at halftime. Mount Ayr called off the dogs somewhat in the second half on the way to the 45-point victory.
Individual statistics were not available as of press time.
The Raiders (15-4) traveled to Leon on Tuesday to take on Central Decataur (results were not available as of press time). They will host East Union on Friday night in Mount Ayr.

Southeast Warren 48
The Raiders kept on with their winning ways by defeating Southeast Warren on the road last Friday 63-48 at Liberty Center.
Mount Ayr would jump out to a 14-6 lead after the first quarter but the Warhawks would fight back in the second quarter pulling within three points at halftime. Southeast Warren would get to within a single point by the end of the third quarter.
The Raiders found the answer in the fourth quarter by finishing the game on with a 25-11 fourth quarter to pull away and secure the 15-point victory.
Jackson Ruggles led the Raiders in scoring with 20 points, while fellow senior Tate Dugan was right behind his teammate with 19 points. Adler Reed added eight points.
Dugan led the team with eight rebounds, as Reed and Rowan Sackett both had three. Ruggles dished out four assists and Hayes Stogdill had three.

Lenox 45
The points came fast and furious by both teams, but only the home squad could maintain the pace as the Raiders ended up having no problem defending their home court against Lenox as they nearly doubled up the visitors 88-45 last Tuesday in Mount Ayr.
The game started out with a high-scoring output that saw Mount Ayr go up 26-18 after the first quarter. The Raiders would nearly match that output in the second while holding Lenox to only 12 for a 51-30 lead at halftime.
Mount Ayr would continue the offensive onslaught in the second half on the way to the 43-point victory.
Senior Jackson Ruggles led the way with 26 points, while juniors Hayes Stogdill and Adler Reed both put up 11 points each.
