LEON, Iowa — The Raiders went head to head with the Central Decatur Cardinals last Tuesday in Leon.
The game was a hard fought 55-40 victory for Mount Ayr. The game started off quick with the Raiders scoring 16 points in the first quarter and 10 in the second quarter for a 26-19 halftime lead.
Moving into the second half of the game the Raiders came out strong in quarter three putting up 21 points to the Cardinals 12.
Although Leon would outscore the Raiders in the final quarter, Mount Ayr held on for the 15-point victory.
Senior Jackson Ruggles came out strong in the second to last game of the conference leading the Raiders in two stat lines. Ruggles scored 21 points along with securing seven rebounds. Junior Hayes Stogdill followed right behind Ruggles with 20 points and four rebounds. Junior Adler Reed scored eight points in the game while also grabbing five rebounds.
