Obituary – Sharon “Gayle” Giles

Sharon “Gayle” Giles, age 85, passed away peacefully on February 3 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born April 30, 1940, in Denver (Worth County), Missouri, to Claude and Deloris Geraldine Stephenson and was raised in Ellston, Iowa.
During her childhood on the family farm, Gayle developed exceptional skill as a seamstress. She created clothing for herself and her sisters and earned recognition at her county fair with a dress she later exhibited at the Iowa State Fair.
Gayle married Raymond William Gepner, and from this union her son Gerald William Lamb was born. She later married Larry Dean Lamb, with whom she welcomed a son, Anthony Dean Lamb. Gayle subsequently married Warren Gary Giles, father of Dena Lynn and John Shannon.
Gayle was a devoted member of Ken Caryl Baptist Church in Littleton, Colorado. She served as the church’s wedding and event manager, where she applied her seamstress talents to the creation and alteration of wedding gowns and event attire. She also operated a small business producing seasonal crafts sold in local shops. Gayle enjoyed ballroom and country dancing with the local dance club, and in later years she became an accomplished painter.
She was preceded in death by Raymond William Gepner, Warren Gary Giles, and her parents.
Gayle is survived by her children Gerald Lamb of Toledo, Ohio, Anthony Lamb of Littleton, Colorado, Dena (Jim) Kothe, Northglenn, Colorado, John (Cindy) Giles, Jacksonville, North Carolina. She is also survived by eight grandchildren—Christian Lamb, Aidan Lamb, Ryan (Alexandra) Kothe, Jacob Kothe, Ashley Palaroan, Brittny (Jake) Giles, John Giles Jr., and Micah Giles—eight great-grandchildren, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held on March 7, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Maple Row Cemetery in Kellerton, Iowa. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Parkinson’s Disease Association at: https://www.apdaparkinson.org/1907d3l/
