Homecoming parade route Friday at 1:30 p.m.
The Mount Ayr Community Schools annual Homecoming celebration will be held next week.
On Thursday, September 15, the Band Boosters will serve supper beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the high school commons.
The remainder of Thursday’s activities move to the football field where the 2022 queen and king will be crowned and the audience will be entertained during a talent show presented by the various classes.
Queen candidates include Zoey Larsen daughter of Jeremy and Tori Larsen; Kaylie Shields daughter of daughter of Josh and Julie Shields and Christi Smith; Reegan Waldeier daughter of Niccole Hogue and Kellen and Morgan Waldeier; Kalee Wise daughter of Brent Wise and Kristin Wise; and Mallory Weehler daughter of Randy and Kim Weehler.
King candidates are Drew Ehlen son of Eric and Jill Ehlen; Jaixen Frost son of Jolene Frost and Josh Heidtman; Jaydon Knight son of Megan and Earl Griffith and Jacobs and Ashley Knight; Riley Stark son of Rick and Stacy Stark; and Klayton Yoder son of Aimee Comer and Phil Yoder.
This year’s princess and prince are Madison Heckman and Cameron Elliott.
The theme of these year’s Homecoming is Lights, Camera, Action: Welcome to Raider Country.
The students will dress up throughout the week.
Monday – Celebrity Day
Tuesday – Stunt Double Day
Wednesday – Red Carpet Day
Thursday – Movie Cast Day
Friday – Spirit Day
The big day arrives Friday, September 23 with the Homecoming parade at 1:30 p.m., followed by the community pep rally at the football field at 2:15 p.m.
That night the Raiders will host Sidney at 7 p.m. with recognitions at halftime.
The night concludes with a dance for middle and high school students after the game.
