When Rodney Gold, DDS moved back to his hometown of Bedford, he wasn’t expecting to see patients from locations two hours away.
“I was surprised to see people driving from larger areas to see me in Leon,” shared Rodney Gold, DDS. According to Dr. Gold, “There are not many dental offices that have openings for people covered under Medicaid.”
Dr. Gold has been providing dental care in Mount Ayr and Leon since June 1 of this year, and the demand to see him is not showing any signs of slowing down.
As a federally qualified dental center, Infinity Health serves patients covered by Medicaid along with any other insurance plan. They also have a sliding scale fee, for those who qualify.
Dental assistant Patricia Elmer, RDH noted they saw approximately 24 patients the first day they opened in Mount Ayr, and are continuing to see between 20-24 people every week.
They are still accepting new patients, and plan to add an additional day to serve Mount Ayr and surrounding areas.
By the middle of July, Infinity Health will be in Mount Ayr every Monday and Thursday.
Dr. Gold practiced in Bedford and Tucson, AZ prior to joining Infinity Health. He currently provides dental services in the Leon and Mount Ayr offices.
