Members of the Mount Ayr Fire Department and First Responders were called to a two-car accident on Friday afternoon in front of the Ringgold County Hospital driveway. According to the Ringgold County Sheriff’s Department, at approximately 3:45 p.m., a vehicle driven by Bricey Ann Gorman of Mount Ayr was leaving the parking lot of the hospital. After stopping at the stop sign she entered Hwy. 169 and began to make a left hand turn. She failed to see another vehicle traveling southbound on highway driven by Gauge Robert Bowan of Mount Ayr, Iowa. Mr. Bowan’s vehicle then struck Ms. Gorman’s vehicle. Mr. Bowan had to be mechanically extricated from the vehicle and was transported to RCH for treatment. Ms. Gorman was ticketed for 321.321 Failure to Yield Upon Entering Highway, and 321.20B Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability-Accident.
