Two members of the Mount Ayr High School Bowling team qualified for the state meet during the qualifying meet in Atlantic last week.
The pair bowled in the state meet at Cadillac Lanes in Waterloo on Wednesday. (See next week’s Record News for results).
Both Johns and Reed finished fourth in Atlantic to earn a berth in the state meet.
Johns, a junior, bowled a 589 series while Reed, also a junior, had a 458 series.
Mount Ayr has never had a boy and girl qualify for the meet. The last Mount Ayr bowler to qualify for the state meet was Kaitlyn Dolecheck in 2020.
The team is coached by Brent Wise and Debra Reed.
