The postseason honors continue to roll in for the Mount Ayr football program.
Earlier this week, the Iowa Football Coaches Association released their 2024 All-State football teams for all classes of Iowa High School football. In Class A, there were three Mount Ayr players selected, all on defense.
The Raiders honored with All-State awards were seniors Trevin Victor and Tyler Martin and junior Jackson Ruggles. All were second team All-State choices.
Victor was for a returner, Ruggles for defensive back, and Martin for defensive utility.
Ruggles was a dual threat both passing and running the football. Ruggles passed for 975 yards on 55 of 80 completions. He had ten touchdown passes against 2 interceptions. Rushing, Ruggles was second on the team with 541 yards on 88 carries with a 6.1-yard average with 11 touchdowns.
Martin had 65.5 tackles to lead the Raiders with 1.5 sacks and 4.5 tackles for loss. Walter had 31 tackles and 3.5 sacks.
Victor had over 100 return yards in both kick-off and punts. He had 187 kick-off returns on eight tries with a 23.4-yard average. He had ten punt returns for 128 yards and a touchdown. He averaged 12.8 yards per punt return. Victor was second on the team in receiving with 12 catches for 280 yards and a touchdown, Victor had 10 carries for 84 yards and a touchdown, and passed for 143 yards on 4-of-9 attempts with two touchdown passes.
