The Mount Ayr boy’s track team nabbed four event wins at their home co-ed meet on Tuesday, April 29, in a meet victory for the team.
The meet win was the second this season for the Raiders. Mount Ayr scored a team high 116 points out of the 13-team scoring meet.
Lenox was second with 95 points, and SE Warren was third with 64 points. Other POI schools at the meet were Central Decatur, Wayne, and East Union.
Mount Ayr won a pair of individual events at the meet. Adan Trujillo won the 3,200-meter run in 10:58.85, and Garrett Walter won the 200-meter dash in 23.07. The Raiders finished 1-4 in the 200-meter dash. Behind Walter, Jackson Ruggles was the runner-up in 23.62, Trevin Victor was third in 24.11, and Bryson Martin was fourth in 24.66. Walter was third in the 100-meter dash in 11.39, and Victor was fourth in 11.71. Ruggles was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash, and Walter was third in 52.57.
Other Raiders with a top-10 finish were Isac Dugan in the 400-meter hurdles, Trujillo in the 800-meter run, Brock Shaha and Tegan Hill in the 1,600-meter run, and Shaha in the 3,200-meter run.
Mount Ayr won a pair of relay events at the meet, winning the sprint medley and the 4×400-meter relay events. The sprint medley relay team of Dyson Thompson, Tate Dugan, Tyler Martin, and Jackson Ruggles won the event in 1:38.19. The 4X400-meter relay team of Jackson Ruggles, Bryson Martin, Drayden Thompson, and Walter won the event in a time of 3:37.25.
The Raiders were runners-up in the distance medley relay and 4X200-meter relay and placed third in the 4X100-meter relay. All but one relay event placed in the top-10.

Dyson Thompson
In the field events, Mount Ayr’s top finish was a runner-up finish by Dyson Thompson in the long jump with a jump of 20-02.5. Adler Reed added a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a best jump ot 5-8. Rowan Sackett placed fifth in the shot put as well with a best throw of 40-feet, 11 inches. Jessie Shelman and Victor each had a top-10 field event finish.
