The Mount Ayr girl’s golf team sits one meet away from the Class 1A state tournament. This comes after the Raiderettes won their regional meet at Lenox on Wednesday, May 14. The Raiderettes beat five other teams at the meet to finish first with a team score of 390. East Union gave the Raiderettes a run, placing second, only two strokes back at 392. Other POI schools at the meet were SW Valley third, Nodaway Valley fifth, and Lenox sixth.
Mount Ayr’s Jaylee Shaffer was the medalist at the meet with a score of 74. Olivia Huntington was next with a score of 99. Other Mount Ayr scores were Kami Willis 105, Abby Larson 112, Alana Doolittle 117, and Izzy Gilbertson 117.
The Raiderettes will play at a Regional Final meet at Crestwood Hills Golf Course in Anita. The other teams will be from regionals at Boyer Valley in Dunlap and from Council Bluffs St. Albert.
