MOUNT AYR, Iowa — The Mount Ayr bowling teams are spinning up to hit the lanes on November 24.
The boys are coming off a perfect regular season last year when the team went 14-0. The girls were 5-5 overall.
Mount Ayr will be led by new coach Jason Echhoff, who has 18 years of coaching experience., but it is first year with the Raiders and he is excited for his athletes to hit the lanes.
“I’m really excited to build the program. I really am,” he said. “So far, my girls have been fantastic. The attitudes have been great.”
Echhoff is equally looking for to working with the boys team.
“I’m really excited to work with my boys come Monday,” he said. “And the boys have some experience returning. So I’m going to lean on some of those kids, and it’s going to be fun to work with some kids with some more experience too. But I like working with all kids, experience, no experience. I’m just excited to get started. I really am.” he continued
Alongside the new coach, this season will be a split season this year between the boys and girls. This is to help the proprietors of the bowling alleys to not be over crowded during events.
