CLARINDA, Iowa — This past weekend the Raiderettes fresh off winter break hit the mat against 19 other teams. Mount Ayr placed 12th overall in the Clarinda Invitational, with many of the wrestlers placing high in their weight brackets.
“Clarinda was as usual a tough tournament and a good kickstart to the last month of the season,” Mount Ayr coach Mitch Doolittle said. “The first of nine tournaments in January makes us battle with competition, recovery and weight control. We are going to keep knocking out those goals and looking forward to regionals at Colfax at the end of the month.”
Sophomore Brylee Schwebach had the top finish for the Raiderettes as she was third in her weight bracket
Freshman Alyssa Doolittle, wrestling at 101 pounds placed fifth overall in her weight bracket. and freshman Faith Keeler, wrestling at 105 pounds, placed sixth overall in her weight bracket.
Senior Addison Doolittle, wrestling at 130 pounds, placed sixth overall in her weight bracket. Sophomore Tarynn Dredge wrestling at 135 pounds placed fifth overall in her weight bracket. Senior Adalynn Dredge wrestling at 140 pounds placed fifth overall in her weight bracket.
