The Ringgold County Development Corporation (RCDC) is gearing up for two exciting summer events that continue to bring visitors, businesses and communities together across Ringgold County: Rockin In Ringgold and Road Trip Ringgold which are being held June 5-6 making for a fun-packed weekend.
Rockin In Ringgold being held Friday, June 5 is RCDC’s only fundraising event and will once again provide an evening of live music, community connection and celebration in one of Ringgold County Conservation’s beautiful parks, Poe Hollow. This year’s event will also feature a new family-friendly atmosphere, encouraging attendees of all ages to join in the fun.
Guests can expect great live music by Mega Ballad an 80s themed cover band local to Iowa, yard games, food from Papa Cowboys and Four Seasons Sweets & Treats, a cash bar and an unforgettable setting that showcases the natural beauty Ringgold County has to offer. Special children’s pricing will also be available for youth ages 16 and under, making it easier for families to attend together.
“Rockin Ringgold is more than just a fundraiser,” said RCDC Executive Director Nicole McGinnis. “It’s an opportunity to celebrate our communities, support local development efforts and enjoy everything that makes Ringgold County special.”
Funds raised through Rockin In Ringgold directly support RCDC’s ongoing efforts to promote economic development, tourism, business growth, and community enhancement projects throughout the county.
In addition to Rockin In Ringgold, excitement is building for the annual Road Trip Ringgold event being held June 6, which has become a favorite summer tradition for residents and visitors alike. The county-wide event encourages travelers to explore local businesses, pop-up vendors, garage sales, food stops and unique destinations throughout Ringgold County.
The official Road Trip Ringgold map will be released May 22 and will feature participating map stops, vendors, and garage sales throughout the county. Organizers encourage businesses, organizations and individuals interested in participating to complete their vendor applications before the May 22 deadline in order to be included on the official event map.
Road Trip Ringgold not only highlights local entrepreneurship and tourism, but also creates an opportunity for communities across the county to work together while welcoming visitors from across the region.
“Both of these events are wonderful examples of what can happen when communities come together,” organizers shared. “We are incredibly thankful for the support we receive from our residents, volunteers, businesses, and sponsors who continue to represent Ringgold County so well.”
