School to use Hudl for athletic livestreaming

MOUNT AYR, Iowa — With an ever-growing interest in viewing Raider and Raiderette athletics online, the Mount Ayr Community School District to make a change to offer more options to patrons. The district is moving to the Hudl online platform for its athletic sportscasting needs for those throughout Ringgold County beyond to watch area youth compete.
The new platform will provide another way for community members, family and friends to follow Mount Ayr teams when they are unable to attend games in person.
For Mount Ayr, the transition to Hudl is expected to give local athletics another avenue for reaching family members and community members who cannot make it to games.
“Moving from NFHS to Hudl gives us an opportunity to provide our community with a more streamlined and engaging way to watch and support our students,” MACS Superintendent Jason Shaffer said. “It can also provide our coaches with extra tools to support scouting, stat keeping and highlight videos.”
Hudl allows fans to watch live streams of sporting events, as well as view game highlights, schedules and team rosters. The platform can be accessed from wherever fans are, making it easier for those who live outside the area to keep up with Mount Ayr athletics.
One of the main features of the system is its use of AI-powered focus cameras. The cameras are designed to film games and events without requiring someone to operate the camera.
The cameras follow the action during the event and can be used to provide live coverage. Afterward, Hudl organizes the recorded footage and statistics, making the information available for players, coaches and fans.
The platform also allows fans to follow their favorite teams and access highlights from games. Tickets to participating live events can also be purchased through the platform.
As more people across the county follow Raider sports, the new system will allow fans to stay connected with teams throughout the season, whether they are in the stands or watching from home.
“Our goal is to make it easier for families and fans to stay connected to our activities, wherever they are,” Shaffer said.
