CHARLEY W. POWERS

CHARLEY W. POWERS, SON OF THOMAS AND MARY POWERS, WAS BORN IN ASHLAND, OHIO, JUNE 1, 1862, DIED OCTOBER 12, 1916. HE CAME TO IOWA WHEN STILL A YOUNG MAN AND HAS RESIDED HERE SINCE. HE WAS MARRIED TO JULIA HARRIMAN, DECEMBER 25, 1889 AT KELLERTON. HE LEAVES TO MOURN HIS LOSS, WIFE, ONE DAUGHTER, MRS. GROVER LEWIS OF THIS CITY AND ONE SON, WILBUR AT HOME. ONE SON, RALPH, DIED  AUGUST 14, 1898. HE LEAVES THREE SISTERS AND ONE BROTHER…MRS. CHARLES BOATMAN OF JOHNSON, KS.; MRS. GEORGE CRAMLET OF KANSAS CITY, MO.; MRS. ETTA HALE AND FRANK POWERS OF KELLERTON AND ALSO TWO GRANDCHILDREN TO MOURN HIS EARLY DEPARTURE. HE WAS A GOOD CITIZEN, HONEST, INDUSTRIOUS AND A MEMBER OF THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH AND I.O.O.F. LODGE. THE FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD AT THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH BY THE MINISTER, REV. BARR, ASSISTED BY REV. DULING, PASTOR OF THE M.E. CHURCH AND INTERMENT WAS MADE IN MAPLE ROW CEMETERY.
