CLYDE COURTLAND SKINNER

CLYDE COURTLAND SKINNER, SON OF WILLIS AN PHEBE SKINNER, WAS BORN IN TAYLOR COUNTY NEAR BLOCKTON, IOWA, FEBRUARY 7, 1881, AND DEPARTED THIS LIFE MAY 13, 1943 AT AGE 62YEARS, THREE MONTHS AND SIX DAYS.

HE WAS UNITED IN MARRIAGE WITH LULA E. POLLEY FEBRUARY 8, 1905. TO THIS UNION WAS BORN ONE DAUGHTER.

WITH THE EXCEPTION OF TWO YEARS SPENT NEAR SKIDMORE, MO., HE HAS ALWAYS RESIDED IN RINGGOLD AND TAYLOR COUNTIES.

HE BECAME A CHRISTIAN EARLY IN LIFE AND UNITED WITH THE BAPTIST CHURCH, REMAINING STEADFAST IN THAT FAITH UNTIL THE TIME OF HIS DEATH.

HE IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE AND DAUGHTER, GOLDIE; ONE SISTER AND ONE BROTHER, MAY AND JAY SKINNER, OF MALOY, MANY OTHER RELATIVES AND A HOST OF FRIENDS.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD SUNDAY, MAY 16, FROM THE METHODIST CHURCH IN BLOCKTON, CONDUCTED BY THE REV. O.H. HALLGRIMSON. BURIAL WAS MADE IN THE BLOCKTON CEMETERY.
