LAURA BELLE BAIRD JUDY

LAURA BELLE BAIRD, DAUGHTER OF SAMUEL AND ELISABETH BAIRD WAS BORN AT REDDING, IOWA, DECEMBER 19, 1865 AND DEPARTED THIS LIFE AT HER HOME IN BRUSH, CO., JANUARY 12, 1944, AT THE AGE OF 78 YEARS AND 24 DAYS.

AFTER HER MARRIAGE TO MYERS JUDY, OF BLOCKTON, ON FEBRUARY 27, 1889, THEY MADE THEIR HOME IN RINGGOLD COUNTY UNTIL 1926 WHEN THEY MOVED TO COLORADO. TO THEM WERE BORN ONE DAUGHTER, PERLE OF ALGONA, AND FIVE SONS; LYNN OF PORTLAND, ORE., ROBERT OF  BLOCKTON, CECIL OF GRINNELL, AND IVAN OF TWIN FALLS, ID. ONE SON DIED IN INFANCY.

MRS. JUDY WAS A MEMBER OF THE METHODIST CHURCH AND ALTHOUGH FOR THE PAST FIVE YEARS ILLNESS HAS PREVENTED HER ATTENDANCES AT SERVICES,HER FAITH WAS A GREAT COMFORT TO HER AND HER COMPANION WHO SO UNTIRINGLY CARED FOR HER. MRS. AND MRS. JUDY WOULD HAVE CELEBRATED THEIR 55TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY IN FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR.

HER LIFE WAS ONE OF DEVOTION TO HER FAMILY AND HER PASSING BRINGS SORROW TO ALL WHO KNEW HER.

THOSE LEFT TO MOURN HER GOING ARE HER HUSBAND, ONE DAUGHTER, FOUR SONS, TWO BROTHERS, J.M. BAIRD OF ST. JOSEPH, MO. AND W. B. BAIRD OF DETROIT, MI., TWO SISTERS, MRS. CHAS. NORRIS OF REDDING AND MRS. OREN HULL OF KELLERTON, AND EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN, TRUMAN AND ROBERT SIMPSON, ROBERTA SIMPSON MILLER, VIVIAN JUDY CRAIG AND JACK, JOANNE, BETTY LEE AND PATRICIA LYNN JUDY. ONE GRANDDAUGHTER, CLYDA BELLE JUDY, DIED OCTOBER 21, 1925.

FUNERAL SERVICES WERE HELD SUNDAY AFTERNOON, JANUARY 16, FROM THE METHODIST CHURCH IN BLOCKTON. INTERMENT WAS IN THE BLOCKTON CEMETERY.
